Overall Comments: These inductors are well constructed and offer good stable inductance. The low permeability, low loss carbonyl tuning core (hexagonal tuning hole can be adjusted with an Allen key with care!) is "lightly coupled" to the coil's copper winding and therefore has limited affect on its inductance. This helps reduce inductance variation over temperature.
Note: The minimum Q value of Q = 74 at f = 40 MHz is very acceptable for a VCO application based on a divide by 8 approach from 29.6 MHz down to 3.7 MHz. Excellent overall VCO phase noise and frequency stability is expected.
